Hi All,
Hi list, Thanks for a great evening.
- The subject of ticketing systems came up with mentions of the open source Bugzilla and Trac in addition to hosted services such as Bitbucket, Github and Google Code. (David has found that Bugzilla is often used by non-programmers as a ticketing system). Ed mentioned there was a ticketing system which worked by being checked in within a git repository itself. (Name unknown).
I managed to track down the git ticketing system ticgit-ng. https://github.com/CodeGnome/ticgit-ng.
- Safe was unhappy with his distributed SCM workflow specifically when working with a ticketing system like Trac. Flo mentioned a good back-to-basics guide by Joel Spolsky on Mercurial: http://hginit.com/
Once you've got your head round DVCS here's a link to the git workflow model we try (and currently fail) to use at work http://nvie.com/posts/a-successful-git-branching-model .
All the best, Safe Safe Hammad http://safehammad.com
