With regard to whole session / half session, we generally run for a couple of hours (chat included) then retire to an Ale House for those willing and able. Michael Sparks has already kindly volunteered to do a talk on implementing pipelining actors and (simplified) software transactional memory for python so we're now looking at a couple of talks in that time.
