Hi All, On Thursday 20th October we'll be getting together again for a Python Northwest talks meeting at MadLab!
On the cards is a talk by Alex Naysmith on 2D Finite Element analysis using Python, Numpy and Matplotlib. Alex has been working on a project to help with his role as a stress engineer. There was quite a bit of interest in Numpy and its uses in our last coding session so this talk is quite timely. I'd also like to pitch in with a talk on a (as yet undecided) Pythonic topic. Topics I've had reason to touch in the last couple of weeks include "How to start a Python app" (there are many ways!) or "The Python turtle module" (which I couldn't resist playing with for Ed's gameoflife app https://github.com/ejs/gameoflife). As always, do feel free to post to the list if you'd like to talk at our meeting. Would you like 5 minutes to promote a project you're working on? Would you like to ask a question or start a discussion on a Pythonic topic?
