That said, at last year's PyCon UK, Larry Hastings also gave a lightning talk on dryparse <https://bitbucket.org/larry/dryparse>, a Python 3 annotations based option parser which he started writing at the conference after the docopt talk because (a) annotations that describe options are pleasing placed directly against the code which enacts the option rather than in a separate string and (b) as the complexity of the options increases, a parser based purely on a chunk of text (like a huge eval) can get brittle. I reckon the importance of these factors will vary from project to project, but it's nice to have yet another ... urm ... option! Dave... would love to hear about PuDB some time.
