Also - I've managed to iron out the issue I was having with my mixed fortran/python code, so it's working well now (you can see how far I've got here: https://github.com/douglowe/f2py-manic-demo). I'd be happy to give a talk sometime in the new year (feb, march, or april?) on this if you'd like?
