Hi All *This Month*
This month's meeting will be Thursday 19th April, 7pm at Madlab on Edge street in the Northern Quarter. It promises to be a good session as Dave Jones will be giving a workshop - type talk on SQL for python programmers. For those who don't know, SQL is the language used by relational databases to add, manipulate, and retrieve their records. It's pretty much essential to know at least the basics if you're planning to do any programming that involves an even slightly significant amount of data. Whether you're creating a web application or doing full on data science odds are, at some point you'll need a database, and once you have one of those, you'll probably use SQL to talk to it. While primarily about SQL, this session will also give you a good incite into how we can interact with SQL-type databases from Python. If you bring a laptop with Python installed you'll be able to follow along during the session (don't worry about installing any variation of SQL itself, Python comes with built in support for SQLite, and that will be sufficient for this session). As usual you can RSVP on Meetup <https://www.meetup.com/Python-North-West-Meetup/events/249471593/> if that's the kind of thing you like doing. *Next Month* We don't currently have anything scheduled from next month, if there's something you'd like to talk about, please get in touch.
