Hello everyone This month Python Northwest are focusing on Hacktoberfest. Hacktoberfest <https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com> is a month-long celebration of open source software, encouraging people to get involved with open source projects. Regardless of your level of experience, contributing to open source projects can be rewarding, and a great chance to get exposure to larger scale projects if you're relatively new to programming.
The main event is on Saturday the 19th October and is organised by the guys at PyDataMCR. I highly encourage you to look it up and attend if you can, the event page is here event <https://www.eventbrite.com/e/manchester-hacktoberfest-tickets-73737604159>. The event is free but you need to register, the details of how to do that can be found on the event page. Ahead of that, our PyNW meeting this month will be a mini coding session to get people in the mood ahead of the weekend's hack event. Full details of that will be published on our Meetup page <https://www.meetup.com/Python-North-West-Meetup/>, just as soon as we've confirmed the venue.
