I've been studying pylint intensely for the last few days, and I have
some ideas I'd like to play with.

I am considering creating a project on launchpad to play with those
ideas, called something like ekr-pylint. It would be mostly a way to
back up my files easily, but I wouldn't mind making it public so other
people can make suggestions.

Do you at logilab have any concerns about this? If you do, I can make
the branch private, or accommodate you in other ways. Otoh, if the
branch were public it might help us all discuss the pros and cons of
what I have been doing.

I won't do anything drastic until you reply. I certainly do not want
to manage a project that competes with pylint. The one I have is more
than enough.

Edward

P.S. I've written down some thoughts about the design at
http://groups.google.com/group/leo-editor/browse_thread/thread/d3e9a70e7c3d54d7
As you can see, the design has already been modified as it confronted
reality :-)

P.P.S. I suppose the best imaginable outcome would be to fold
improvements into the main pylint, that is assuming real improvements
do appear.
