Since logilab.common uses unittest2 now by default, we can easily skip tests by the new skipIf decorator. I will try to push that today. However, the Capture capability (and test-related code) will be dropped as soon as pytest utility goes away in favor of unittest2. > test_mode_change, test_mode_change_on_append and test_restore_on_close fail > when tests are > run by root. I suggest that these tests are skipped when os.geteuid() is 0. os.access is often problematic in some environments (chroot, fakeroot, nfs, ...) since it uses read uid instead of effective uid in contrast to other file utilities found in posix world.
