The next meeting of the Cambridge Python User Group will be at 7pm on Tuesday
9th May 2017, at the Raspberry Pi Foundation, 30 Station Road, Cambridge CB1 2JH

**Note that our next meeting is on the second Tuesday of the month, not the
first.**

This is our monthly meeting. Normally some of us go on to the pub afterwards.

Simon Byrne will present: A hands on introduction to Julia

This is an introduction to the Julia language. Heavily inspired by Python, it
is a dynamic language that aims to be enjoyable and easy to use as well as high
performance, in order to avoid the "two language problem", particularly common
in technical computing.

This is planned to be a practical session using Raspberry Pi's graciously
loaned by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. However you may still want to bring
along a laptop.

Simon Byrne has been using Julia since 2012, and now works for Julia Computing.
He is also still an avid user and fan of Python.

**Again, please note that this is on Tuesday 9th May, the second Tuesday of the
month.**

We are now on meetup.com, at http://www.meetup.com/CamPUG/. If possible, please
RSVP there for meetings so we have an idea of numbers. As an incentive, there's
normally more detail about each meeting there, and you can also find out about
future meetings.
