How did you find out about "--startup"? Running "your_service.py" with no args prints: Options for 'install' and 'update' commands only: --username domain\username : The Username the service is to run under --password password : The password for the username --startup [manual|auto|disabled] : How the service starts, default = manual --interactive : Allow the service to interact with the desktop. ... I think the last one shown is what you are after. Be sure to look for the MSDN documentation on this flag - it may not do exactly what you want ("interact with the desktop" is slightly misleading...)
