I've got no idea what the problem might be, unfortunately. I remember someone saying recently that they were having problems with some build of pywin32 (which is the most likely prospect) but I don't remember what. Could you copy the email to the python-win32 list? Maybe someone there can spot the problem. I don't think it's specific to wmi.
