I don't especially want to have to juggle Git, Mercurial & Bzr (as well as svn & CVS) so I'd far rather you went with Mercurial if only because it makes my Python life easier!
Ain't that the truth! So far I've managed to avoid all but Git, but sadly I fear that sooner or later that too will end up locally...
