Adrian Chadd <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #117 from Adrian Chadd <[email protected]> --- ok, but what would you like the outcome to be? * stay with an older version, can't shift software along the upgrade path that now requires a newer sphinx package and that continues to have flow-on effects in the dependency tree; * upgrade to later version, drop older python support because that's what the python ecosystem is doing, users are required to upgrade; * .. a third thing where stuff is somehow backported to work against some combination of the two so you can have older python with newer software work, and continue to support that until python-3.10 is fully dropped? The python ecosystem is on this treadmill. They're increasingly forcing everyone to come along. You're not going to be able to stay with python 3.10 and get newer software, and asking people to not upgrade past it will grind upgrading lot of other package versions to a halt. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
