yeah, that'll have to do.

it's strange, it seems very little of the reference functionality  
available in MEL is exposed in the API, or am i just looking in the  
wrong place.  i haven't found anything beyond MFileIO and the few  
methods on MFnDependencyNode, like isReadOnly and referenceFile
