Wing itself comes in 3 editions: 101, Personal and Professional. When you
pay for the professional edition you'll have some rather nice features
enabled like unit testing hooks, interactive debug probe with auto
completion, source code assistant, and source control integration.

An open source program, built on WX, called "Editra" ships with the
installation of wxPython 2.8. This is another option you can evaluate and
you can get more info here: http://editra.org/

Currently I'm using Editra at home and Wing IDE Professional at work. For
larger, more complex programming I'd miss the feature set of a professional
level IDE but for smaller projects or if your just learning just about
anything will do.
