Hi everyone, I wanted to let you all know that I'm hard at work on the PyMEL Masterclass, but I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news first: most, if not all, of the Maya masterclasses at siggraph have been cancelled, so if you were going to siggraph expecting to find me and my class there, that unfortunately will not be the case (unfortunate for me too, because I was looking forward to New Orleans). The good news is that the class will be made available online for everyone. Details such as release date and cost are not under my control and still hard to come by, but Autodesk will hopefully make the official announcements soon. Some classes will be offered for free and I am lobbying to have mine be one of them, but there's still no guarantee. I'll let you all know more as I find it out.
As always, if you have any suggestions on topics to cover, be sure to let me know. The beginner stuff is easy to come up with because it's essentially a video walkthrough of pymel's features and how it improves on the standard implementation, but the advanced topics are harder to put a finger on. Currently, advanced topics include ipymel, special pymel methods ( __apimobject__, __apimdagpath__, __melobject__, etc ), discussions of mutability and hashing of PyNodes, and creating "virtual" subclasses. -chad --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ http://groups.google.com/group/python_inside_maya -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
