Sorry about my english and if i'm posting in the wrong place
but i need your help about this
Well i'm currently on Ubuntu hardy 8.04 and i want to learn Python
i've installed IDLE for python and got maya x64 2009 installed
My problem is when i'm trying to initialize maya.standalone it crashed
the IDLE
I've tried to do this within a terminal and it send me this:
Python 2.6.3 (r263:75183, Oct 10 2009, 03:10:37)

>>> import maya.standalone
>>> maya.standalone.initialize('name=python')
Signal: 11 ()
Segmentation fault
But with the maya.py it works perfectly i can create a cube without
opening maya etc etc
I'm a total newbie in python and i want to understand why it returns
me those errors
