Hi all,
The first official release of PyMEL 1.0 is ready to download! It supports Maya
versions 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. This release is slighter newer than the
one included with Maya 2011 -- 1.0.2 versus 1.0.0 -- and has a few additions
and bug fixes that we couldn't get in before the deadline. And yes, if you're
running 2011, you can install our point releases over the included version,
just follow the installation instructions in the 1.0 documentation, they will
guide you in the art of placing packages at the front of the PYTHONPATH.

For the highlights of this release, check out what's new here:

Or for those who are more detail oriented, have a look at the change log:

For current PyMEL users who have not been following along with beta releases,
keep in mind there are some non-backward compatible changes since 0.9 so be
sure to read the "What's new" section first and also pay close attention to the
"install" documentation, as it has changed since verion 0.9.x.

The last planned release in the 0.9 line -- 0.9.3 -- is also available for
download. It provides PyMEL 1.0 forward compatibility through the addition of
the pymel.all module. Both 0.9.3 and 1.0.2 provide a basic converter for
upgrading scripts from 0.9 to 1.0.
