Hi all - I was wondering if folks new of any way to "bake" a render layer into the master render layer - ie, I want it so that when I render from the masterLayer after baking, it would give exactly the same results as rendering from the original render layer before baking it.
Is there some sort of maya.cmds function / mel command that does that that I missed? If not, has anyone attempted to write something that would do this? In general, I imagine the steps would look roughly like: a) delete / hide any objects not in the render layer from the master layer b) apply any adjustments in the render layer to the master layer c) (optional) delete all layers other than the master layer Of course, I imagine that actual implementation would be littered with pitfalls; so if anyone has tried this, and has any advice / tips, it would be greatly appreciated.
