Hi folks
having real trouble geting Tkinter to work with Maya2013. Straight out of the
box it simply doesn't work:
----
# Error: line 1: TclError: file C:\Program
Files\Autodesk\Maya2013\bin\python26.zip\lib-tk\Tkinter.py line 1643: Can't
find a usable init.tcl in the following directories:
{C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2013/Python/lib/tcl8.5} {C:/Program
Files/Autodesk/Maya2013/lib/tcl8.5} {C:/Program Files/Autodesk/lib/tcl8.5}
{C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2013/library} {C:/Program
Files/Autodesk/library} {C:/Program Files/Autodesk/tcl8.5.2/library}
{C:/Program Files/tcl8.5.2/library}
This probably means that Tcl wasn't installed properly. #
----
I've spent about 3 days trawling the net, trying to find solutions and it seems
to be a common issue (there is an unresolved thread about this in this google
group that goes back 5 years)
What is going on here? is this specific to Maya2013? I've certainly used
Tkinter in earlier versions of Maya with no problems at all.
I've tried changing the $PYTHONPATH to point at the site-pacckages directory.
I've tried setting the $MAYA_LOCATION and $PATH in the windows environment
variable to look in various places. no luck.
This seems to happen on both Windows 7 64bit *and* windows XP 32bit.
Any help would be welcome!
Thanks
Denis-Jose
