They will release sources, but you have to compile yourself. So, does that mean it could be compiled for Windows Mobile? Would that be a Good Thing or a Bad Thing?

Compiling it for windows Mobile will be very challenging . The windows implementation will use a lot of system calls - only a subset of those calls will be available on windows mobile. The source would need modifying to only use resources available under windows mobile.
