Introduction to PloneGov - a user led open source project
---------------------------------------------------------
PloneGov aims to create a platform of Plone based e-Government initiatives
in
order to ease information, best practices and software sharing. The project
involves developing software applications by and for public administrations,

enabling them to benefit from greater technological independence and
together
build tools that are truly suited to their needs.
Initiated by small towns in close cooperation with the Plone and Zope open
source communities, the PloneGov project is open to all types of
collaboration. It is already reaching medium and large sized cities, regions

and parliaments, and has spread to 3 continents and around 15 countries.
