Introduction to PloneGov - a user led open source project --------------------------------------------------------- PloneGov aims to create a platform of Plone based e-Government initiatives in order to ease information, best practices and software sharing. The project involves developing software applications by and for public administrations, enabling them to benefit from greater technological independence and together build tools that are truly suited to their needs. Initiated by small towns in close cooperation with the Plone and Zope open source communities, the PloneGov project is open to all types of collaboration. It is already reaching medium and large sized cities, regions and parliaments, and has spread to 3 continents and around 15 countries. Location -------- Dublin City Centre (to be confirmed depending on interest) - Thursday April 24th 10.00 -12.00 Xavier Heyman CEO of ZEA Partners (Zope Europe Association) and coordinator or PloneGov will give an overview of the project, goals, methodologies, existing software applications and worldwide participations.
