One of the disappointing points of the cron jobs is that according to the
website

A URL invoked by cron is subject to the same limits and quotas as a normal
HTTP request, including the request time limit.

What happens if you have some very large job you need to run that could take
hours? I though you could just buy the CPU time and that was that. Or am i
missing something here?
