Your responsibilities in this role will include the following: - working with stakeholders in the modeling group to establish, refine, and document application functional / non-functional requirements for new and existing applications - developing software, unit tests and related processes to meet and exceed the requirements of stakeholders in the modeling group - support stakeholders in the modeling group in analyzing failures in the calculations - contributing to the technological and methodological direction of the software within the risk modeling group and the company as a whole. In order to be considered for the role, you should possess the following skills/attributes: - In-depth knowledge of OO, functional and dynamic language idioms (preferably Python, but Perl will also be ok) - Good Unix/Linux skills, including package management and machine configuration - Willingness to pick up new technologies and understand existing systems - A general problem solving mentality and the ability to collaborate with different teams on solutions for a variety of code and data related problems A mathematical or statistical background is highly desirable, as well as experience in rich internet application development.
