You can sign-up here: < https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dDhaNlZEdzVodHRjczZ0UWIzcVhRc3c6MQ#gid=0 >. This month we have talks from: - Marco Forte on Arduino development - Simon Maishman on the challenges of developing his final year project - a visualisation tool for historical data - Mark Denihan on his Security Shepherd tool - Security Shepherd demonstrates the OWASP top ten software security issues. As usual there will be food first, so come hungry! So far I/O Extended has about 40 sign-ups. We haven't locked down the running order of talks yet, but we are working on getting a Google engineer to give a talk just to us either in-person or via a Google Hangout during the evening, this will let us get some one-on-one Q&A on the announcements at I/O. We're also working on getting swag for every attendee, at this point all I know for sure is it will NOT be phones and tablets, think more along the lines of t-shirts and pens! There's also a good chance we'll have some tech on the day to play around with, we'll know more closer to the event, so keep an eye on the mailing list. A big announcement that's coming down the line is Dublin Google Technology User Group (Dublin GTUG) will be rebranding to Google Developer Group Dublin (GDG Dublin). More information on this will be forthcoming at Google I/O, but we are letting the cat out of the bag early as there's a competition that might interest you guys. Competition info which I have lazily cut-and-paste: *Task The job is to create animation in which GTUG logo would change into GDG. it’s totally up to you which technology will you use (flash, HTML5 and JS, 3D video etc.). More pro and futuristic technology (working under Chrome) the more points you’ll gain! Deadline Project should be done by 15th of June so there is time for the community to choose the winner(s) before I/O. Prizes Van (Googler) promised us some gifts. We can show the winning animations in the GDG Lounge at Google I/O and give a GDG logo jacket to the first place winner. Sorry for no tickets to the I/O :( The best animation will be chosen by voting within our community. Questions If you have any questions please visit our Moderator<http://www.google.com/moderator/#15/e=1fe0f2&t=1fe0f2.40>and write it down. We’ll answer as fast as we can! Submiting your animation You can add your animation in this form<https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEVab0hQVnZOdml2OGs0aGtQNGxYNkE6MQ>. Just add few things, share a comment if you like and submit!* Current GTUG logo: https://www.dropbox.com/s/59j4wq7x38upu8u/gtug2.png New GDG logo: https://www.dropbox.com/s/krkrvpxo3s6np33/GDGDublin.png Finally, we are organising a Software Security Workshop with OWASP < https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Ireland-Dublin> in July - Mark Denihan will hopefully give you a taste of the weekend with his talk. More details on this to follow. Apologies for the wall-of-text email. See you next Tuesday! - Eoin Warm regards, Eoin Bailey M.Sc.
