~From the traceback, it doesn't look like you have SPE installed in the right place. The SPE-OSX folder needs to go in /Applications. There are paths to wxGlade and XRCed that are hard-coded. I know that's not the most elegant way to do things, but it was the simplest approach to getting every tool installed in its own app bundle. (SPE does this differently on other platforms, but I wanted a more Mac-like approach.)

I've noticed that SPE sometimes hangs in this fashion. I don't have a solution for it, unfortunately. I generally save files then simply quit--that seems to shut it down more gracefully.
