I've just been bitten by urllib (and urllib2) finding a proxy via ic.py when I'm actually at a location which doesn't have a proxy set in system preferences. I don't know much about Internet Config, but I was wondering if there is an alternative for urllib/urllib2 to use the System Preferences?
