QuickTime != QuickTime Player. QuickTime is a system API; QTP is just one of many applications that use that API. The OP will need to be more specific if they want a more detailed answer: it's not clear if they're wanting to use the QuickTime API in their own Python-based application, or control an existing application from Python.
