I remember this came up recently, but I don't know where it's coming out: Is it likely that the python/pythonw distinction will disappear?
I ask because I have to write a getting-started sheet for some students taking up Python, on various platforms. I know that any time I can eliminate a branch, incomprehension diminishes by 36.8%, so getting rid of "If you're on a Mac, this line should end with 'pythonw' rather than 'python' …" would be nice.
