Ok, right I thought ApplePython = MacPython
and got confused by this paragraph on the MacPython site, NOT python.org "The downside of Apple including 2.3 is that running MacPython 2.3.3 on Mac OS X 10.3 is a bit of a problem: when you install the full MacPython 2.3.3 distribution (the one labelled here as MacPython 2.3.3 for 10.2) the two installations may get confused when you build extension modules. We hope to solve this for 2.3.4, and in the mean time you can visit the FAQ for some workarounds if you really need 2.3." from (http://homepages.cwi.nl/~jack/macpython/macpython-osx.html) Which I assumed went for 2.4 as well, and followed the instructions from the Uninstall page. "Remove /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework and everything in it; remove /Applications/MacPython-2.3 and everything in it;" Which I deleted from the finder. I had already grabbed the binaries from python.org, so I missed the "As an almost complete MacPython 2.3 installation is already included in Panther by Apple the only thing you need is the MacPython 2.3 for Panther addons installer" on the 'Download' page of MacPython. I'll update later with the Fixes. Thanks to all for the help. _______________________________________________ Pythonmac-SIG maillist - Pythonmac-SIG@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/pythonmac-sig
