As was recently discussed the 2.5b1 installer modifies .profile to put the framework python's bin directory on the path.
But...what happens if one runs the installer again, or installs a later python. Does it somehow realize modification has already been done and need not be done again? If it realizes the modification has been done, how does it do that?
