Yes indeed. The best way to create Mac applications is using the PyObjC toolkit (http://pyobjc.sourceforge.net/) which lets you create the interface using Interface Builder (which comes with the OS X developer tools) and write the application code in Python, but still interact with all of the Cocoa classes. There are tutorials on the PyObjC website. It is what I generally use for GUI applications. You can then build them using py2app to get a standard Mac application and there is no visible sign that your application is written in Python. I hope that helps.
