Bryan, I'm asking you kindly to channel your efforts at http://code.google.com/p/pythonocc-examples/ to the pythonOCC repository.
Note that I don't think its ok to put work of other ( there is code of Bryan Cole here and of Thomas & myself ) in a SVN without explicitly asking for permission. ( in certain cases its even illegal, because code is OS, it doesnt mean that there authorship and IP don't apply ) I *absolutely* see the value of your effort and certainly *do* welcome it, but I believe this is something that should live in the pythonOCC repository. ( so, please take this as a _compliment_ ;') I know you're intentions are good, but forking for no good reason is plain wrong. ( I consider unmotivated forking unprofessional and counter productive ) Open Source is a serious business, and the pythonOCC community ( which I consider you're an important part of, don't get me wrong ) poors a damn lot of effort into it. You cannot simple take the work of others and dump it in your SVN. Its disrespectful at best. One of the important efforts of pythonOCC is hopefully to develop a cohesive community, certainly for pythonOCC, and perhaps even bring more structure in the OCC community at large. Therefore I'm convinced of your good intentions, but for a project at an early and critical stage where pythonOCC is, so excuse me for watching out for cohesion of the project. Sorry for the strict tone of this mail, but I guess you get the point. Cheers, -jelle _______________________________________________ Pythonocc-users mailing list Pythonocc-users@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/pythonocc-users
