NIS ( New Interactive Service ) is a replacement for AIS ( Advanced Interactive Services ). It should be quicker than AIS and use more sophisticated OGL code, and a lot easier to use. AIS is quite complete, and honestly I couldn't tell you how NIS holds up against AIS.
