It was an error, and one we definitely cannot permit ourselves... Like you say, noisy information is a severe handicap to OS software... Thomas is providing win32 binaries and I provide osx binaries, but so far we haven't got a linux version going. That's a pity, it would be good to have ready to go packages for modern hardware.
