I am building a Python/Fortran 95 based simulation environment for some physics
simulations.

I am interested in reading a Solidworks model (ported for instance to STL) and
querying xyz locations
to populate a simulation mesh, which I will then write out as a NETCDF
database, which will be the
input to my simulation code.

Is PythonOCC a good environment for doing this? The examples on the website
seem to be
mostly about building and manipulationg a 3D model from python, rather than
querying an
existing model.

Any suggestions/comments appreciated.
