Dear all,

The latest pythonOCC release (0.4) is quite old (more than 1 year old).
During the past year, many experiments and changes were committed to the
googlecode subversion repository. We do think it's time now to bring you
these latest developments.

Compared to 2008 (beginning of the project) and 2009, 2010 can be considered
as a 'low activity' year, mostly because of many time-consuming commitments
to honor. But, at some point, and in my opinion, the initial purpose of the
project is fulfilled: although many tweaks are still necessary to tend to a
perfect python library, we do have now a working python wrapper for the OCC
kernel. Let's try to see beyond this simple python wrapper.

But 2010 was a long time ago! I'd like (and I expect) 2011 to be a second
birth for the project: more releases, more experiments, new ideas, more
involved developers, better doc, improved project quality and so on. I'll do
my best to make it happen, we will do everything possible to boost the
project and bring significant changes and improvements.

As a consequence, the decision was made to move from the GNU General Public
License (GPL) to the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) for the
upcoming release (0.5), planned for the end of this week.

Best Regards,

Thomas
