data exchange between CAD and FEA is exactly the reason I want to do
this conversion. Many thanks to you and Thomas for the AP 209
suggestion, I will look into it.
As Thomas mentioned in his e-mail, STEP AP209 is supported by occt, but
the python wrapper is missing from pythonocc. We've just found out that
it is possible to do this with Patran though, which is sufficient for now.
