Hi Paul, when I started using pyTrainer I had the same problem. Go to the athletes tab. Now use "New" in the "File" menu (names are guessed as I have them in German language). In the new window you can input those values. But be careful! There's no input help or validation. In the beginning it didn't like the formating I used and the entry didn't appear in the list or it was removed if I edited it. My installation works reliable if I add date as "yyyy-mm-dd" and weight like "11.22". If you have at least one entry in the list you can also use the RMB menu.
I think this feature could need some work like a date selector for the date and spin buttons for numeric values. Having defaults would be also handy, for example the current date, weight etc. of last entry.
