The issue is not adding userinfo to each query, that's a perfectly sane design. The issue is that //apart from that//, that the code is sending out repetitive https://pt.wiktionary.org/w/api.php?action=query&meta=userinfo&format=json requests, 'several times a second' (as reported by @malafaya today on irc). This might indeed have something to do with the login code, but I'm not entirely sure (haven't checked).
