It was a bit frustrating. https://pypi.org/project/pywikibot/ =================================== pywikibot==3.0.20200306 in requirements.txt works all more recent versions fail on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with python 3.6 and 3.7.5. I tried lots of configurations and the error message should up very often. It would be great if youd install a continuous integration e.g. with travis testing different dist and python combinations so that downstream projects do not choke up on this problem.
