TASK DESCRIPTION
**Steps to replicate the issue**:
- run gui_tests on github action
**What happens?**:
The error message
`_tkinter.TclError: couldn't connect to display ":1.0"` will be shown even if
the display was created with `os.system('Xvfb :1 -screen 0 1600x1200x16 &')`
**What should have happened instead?**:
gui_tests should run like it does with Appveyor tests
