RPI2026F1 created this task.
RPI2026F1 added projects: Pywikibot, Pywikibot-login.py.
Restricted Application added subscribers: pywikibot-bugs-list, Aklapper.

TASK DESCRIPTION
**Feature summary** (what you would like to be able to do and where): There
should be a way to indicate to pywikibot when the login is a main user login,
so it won't take the deprecated route for login.

**Use case(s)** (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem,
and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not
describe only a solution): Whenever I login via my username and password to
pywikibot, I get the deprecation error `Main-account login via "action=login"
is deprecated and may stop working without warning. To continue login with
"action=login", see [[Special:BotPasswords]]. To safely continue using
main-account login, see "action=clientlogin"`. Since there is a non-deprecated
route to take, it should be possible to indicate somehow that the account is
not a bot password login.

**Benefits** (why should this be implemented?): Would allow username and
password logins to continue working indefinitely.
