You should never assume that the network you are using
is stable and always produces desired results. It can be down
to everything, like authentication problems, caching problems
at wikimedia or network issues. 

Sure, it might be a real problem, but it's most probably on the
side of MediaWiki (or actually Wikimedia installation) rather
than the framework.
