Main milestone that keeps us from releasing pywikibot 2 is i18n. The patch <https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#q,I6e2c63db039854dd8d009d837b2e6b9d11ba217a,n,z> that allows pywikibot to use json file is still under review and at first we have to wait until another patch <https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#q,I12518189126d8f929d30ab18bf8597a288d28891,n,z> got merged and then we start working on this one.
If someone works and make this patch <https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#q,I12518189126d8f929d30ab18bf8597a288d28891,n,z> merged. I will finish up the other patch.
