This is the only way to do it.

This is interesting. There was some private discussion between Jörg and myself 
about this issue. Also the open bug report and all that. We came to the same 
conclusion, that we want to have layers in the graph. Please stay tuned. We can 
probably remove all the do-method magic by that (at least hide it completely 
from the user). At the moment you can do a g.dodata() to force the data being 
printed before (i.e. below) the axes.
