Hi Gabrielle, you may use the svn browser by sourceforge to grab the current style.py at: http://pyx.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/pyx/trunk/pyx/pyx/graph/style.py
Just take the enhanced version of the text class from that file ... it should add the dxtext/dytext features as requested.
