Hi everybody,
I am experiencing some strange problem and I hope someout out there can
help me.
I used PyX to produce all the plots in pdf format for my last paper. I
wanted sans serif text so I included
text.preamble(r"\usepackage{helvet}")
text.preamble(r"\usepackage{sfmath}")
The plots are beautiful and everything works just fine on my office
workstation (Centos 4, acroread 7.0.5).
Now I am preparing the conference presentation using the very same plots
on my laptop (running Centos5, acroread 7.0.9 or 8.1.2) and all
characters in a math environment look completely distorted in acroread.
The alternative evince viewer displays the same PDFs without problems.
I tried different versions of acroread but it's always the same. It
seems like acroread can not display the oblique helvetica fonts used in
my PyX plots on one computer, but it can on another machine. I thought
the helvetica fonts are included in the standard distribution of
acroread ... so what is going wrong?
Thanks for any advice.
cheers,
benedikt
