Hello, Happy New Year, and sorry for the late response to you all. I'm Rob Weir, one of the volunteers with the Apache OpenOffice project. I live in the US, in Massachusetts, where we now have snow on the ground and cold temperatures.
If you look carefully you see that I have cc'ed an email address called "[email protected]". That is a mailing list address. Any note sent to that address gets forwarded to all other subscribers to the list. This is how we communicate and coordinate, via that mailing list. So if you have not done this already, you want to subscribe to this mailing list ASAP. To do so, send an email to [email protected]. This will cause a confirmation email to be sent to your inbox. Follow those instructions and you will subscribed to the list. After you are subscribed, I'd ask each of you to review our New Volunteer Orientation Modules: http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/index.html These are provided to give you the basic background information about Apache and how we do things here. It will be fine if you skim the Level 1 and Level 2 items and give your greater attention to the "Intro to QA" module: http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/intro-qa.html One of the things that "Intro to QA" module will do is ask you to create an ID for our Bugzilla issue tracker database. Once you have done that, then we can assign you a set of big reports to verify. So, to recap: 1) Welcome! 2) Subscribe to the QA mailing list 3) Review the New Volunteer Orientation Modules 4) Create a Bugzilla account 5) Send me your Bugzilla account user id, along with a note on what platforms you can test on, and I'll send you a batches of bugs to verify. If you have any questions on this, please post your questions to the mailing list, or contact me directly. Regards, -Rob
